I bring both professional training and lived experience to my work as a therapist. My own life has involved multiple transitions, including career changes, navigating fertility challenges and loss, becoming a parent, and balancing the demands of caring for children while remaining connected to aging parents. These experiences have shaped my understanding of how complex, emotional, and sometimes disorienting life can feel, especially for women.
Later in life, I also experienced a significant shift in how I understood myself and my identity, including aspects of my LGBTQ+ identity. I know firsthand how unsettling identity questions can be, and how important it is to feel supported, culturally respected, and understood while sorting through them. I also have lived experience with non-traditional family arrangements, which has deepened my appreciation for the creativity, communication, and boundaries required to make relationships work, particularly in LGBTQ+ and other diverse family systems.
In my work with clients, I aim to create a space that feels warm, respectful, and genuine. My approach integrates humanistic values, psychodynamic perspectives, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and trauma-informed care. I believe people grow when they feel heard and supported, and I strive to offer steady guidance, curiosity, and compassion as clients explore their experiences and move toward meaningful change at their own pace.
