Get to know Kathryn

Hi! I’m Kat, and I use she/her pronouns.

While I’ve recently transitioned to counselling full-time, I’ve supported many folks navigating experiences of marginalization throughout my career. Inclusion is important to me, and I’ve been described as warm, compassionate, and supportive in my approach. I work collaboratively with my clients to meet them where they’re at, grounded in evidence-based practices along the way. I have a particular interest in mindfulness and somatic (body-based) work, but everyone has unique needs, which we can explore together!

Currently, I’m prioritizing working with folks navigating relationship issues, workplace difficulties, life transitions, and 2SLGBTQ+ experiences. I’ve been in the diversity, equity, and inclusion space for the past 10+ years, which is reflected in my approach, which aims to be decolonized, anti-racist, and trauma-informed, although I am always learning and growing.

Outside of my practice, I enjoy spending time with my dog, getting creative (painting, cross stitching/textiles, beadwork, etc.), listening to live music, and trying new recipes.
