Therapy doesn’t have to feel stiff, clinical, or like you need to have the “right” thing to say. You can show up unsure of where to start, laugh in the middle of talking about something hard, swear occasionally, or admit that the coping strategy you know you’re supposed to use is absolutely not happening right now. My goal is to create a space where you can be a person first.
I work with teens, adults, and parents who may be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, disconnected, stuck in difficult patterns, or simply tired of holding everything together. I have extensive experience supporting youth and families in a hospital setting, including working with young people experiencing suicidal thoughts and significant emotional distress. I’m especially drawn to work involving relationships, family dynamics, and the ways our connections with others shape how we understand ourselves.
I’m also passionate about supporting new and expecting parents through the enormous (and sometimes wildly under-discussed) adjustment that comes with pregnancy, postpartum, and parenthood. This stage can shift your identity, relationships, emotions, and sense of self all at once. I’m currently pursuing additional certification in perinatal mental health to further support individuals and families navigating these changes.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and flexible. I’m interested in understanding not only what you’re struggling with, but what’s underneath it—your emotions, relationships, experiences, and the patterns that may have developed along the way. I also believe in practical tools for the moments when insight alone isn’t enough. Some days we might dig deeper into emotions or relationship patterns; other days, you might just need strategies to get through a really difficult week.
I don’t believe therapy should be one-size-fits-all. We’ll figure out together what feels helpful, meaningful, and realistic for you.
And yes, therapy can be serious. But it can also include humour, sarcasm, celebrating the small wins, and acknowledging that being a human is just objectively kind of messy.
Finding the right therapist matters. If you’re looking for someone who will meet you with warmth, curiosity, and a little humour along the way, I’d be happy to connect and see if we might be a good fit.
