Get to know Shaheer

Hi there, and welcome! I’m so glad you’re here.

Taking the first step towards therapy can feel overwhelming, and I know that reaching out isn’t always easy. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, stress, relationship challenges, life transitions, grief, trauma, or simply feeling like something isn’t quite right, I strive to create a space where you can show up exactly as you are. My hope is that our work together feels collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in curiosity, allowing you to feel heard, understood, and supported every step of the way.

I believe that every person has a unique story, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. Rather than focusing on labels, I take the time to understand your experiences, strengths, values, and goals so we can find an approach that feels meaningful to you. My work is rooted in a trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and person-centred lens, and I integrate a variety of evidence-based approaches. Together, we can explore what has shaped your experiences while building practical tools to help you move forward with confidence.

As the daughter of immigrants, I understand that culture, identity, family expectations, and belonging can shape how we experience and talk about mental health. I am particularly passionate about increasing access to culturally responsive care and helping reduce the stigma surrounding therapy within diverse communities, including South Asian communities, while warmly welcoming individuals from all backgrounds, identities, cultures, and walks of life.

Above all, I believe therapy is about creating a relationship where you feel safe enough to be yourself without fear of judgement. It would be a privilege to walk alongside you as you navigate life’s challenges, celebrate your strengths, and work towards the goals that matter most to you.
