Therapy can offer a rare opportunity to pause and pay attention to parts of ourselves that are easily overlooked in everyday life. You may come with a clear concern—anxiety, low mood, loneliness, a difficult relationship or life transition—or simply a feeling that something is not quite right. We can begin wherever you are.
I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and MA in Counselling Psychology student completing my practicum under clinical supervision. Before entering professional training in Canada, I spent many years providing psychotherapy in the Chinese-speaking community. These experiences have taught me that people do not always need to be given answers. Often, it is more helpful to have someone listen carefully, stay with difficult feelings, and become curious with you about what may be happening beneath the surface.
My style is reflective, emotionally attentive, and exploratory. Rather than rushing to correct thoughts or remove uncomfortable feelings, I am interested in understanding how your emotions, relationships, past experiences, and inner conflicts may connect with what you are experiencing now. From there, we can consider what might gradually become different.
I welcome young adults, midlife and older adults of all genders, including people navigating anxiety, depression, relationships, identity, intimacy and sexuality, loneliness, immigration, cultural transitions, and questions of belonging.
I offer individual virtual therapy in English and Mandarin. Longer-term psychodynamic work is a particular interest of mine, while shorter-term, more focused work can also be discussed depending on what brings you to therapy and what you hope to gain from it.
