I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and a graduate of City University of Canada, where I earned my Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology. I have worked as a counsellor with Ottawa Muslim Community Services (OMCS), providing support to individuals from diverse backgrounds within a culturally responsive and community-based setting.
My work is influenced by my cultural background and my passion for eating disorder treatment. I am particularly interested in understanding how early life experiences, identity, and emotional patterns shape an individual’s relationship with food and the body. I am currently conducting research comparing Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs) in the treatment of bulimia nervosa, which continues to inform my evidence-based clinical practice.
