Get to know Melissa

Welcome, I’m so glad you’re here!

My name is Melissa, and I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and intern therapist at Counselling and Co. My goal is to create a space where you can feel comfortable showing up exactly as you are, without judgement, pressure or the need to have everything figured out.

I believe therapy should be a collaborative, supportive, and genuine experience. Whether you or your child are navigating anxiety, grief, life transitions, neurodivergence (including ADHD and autism), or simply feeling stuck, we’ll work together to better understand your experiences and move toward meaningful growth.

My approach is grounded in Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) and person-centred therapy, with a focus on helping you build self-understanding, self-compassion, and confidence in yourself and your relationships. Additionally, before becoming a therapist, I worked as a music therapist which continues to shape how I connect with clients. Inspiring me to use creativity, curiosity, and flexibility in my therapy work.

A few fun facts about me: I’ve written my own album, play four instruments, am obsessed with my dog, and never miss an opportunity to watch hockey.
