Student therapists are in the process of completing a Masters degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling Psychology, Education, or a comparable program. They often offer very low-cost therapy in exchange for the opportunity to gain experience as new counsellors. They work at a practicum placement site, where they practice under the oversight of a qualified clinical supervisor.
Mental health care can be difficult to access for many Canadians. Though there are a variety of ways to access low cost or publicly funded mental health care, these options don’t suit every need. At the same time, there are qualified student therapists charging affordable rates looking for clients to help. We strive to help connect student therapists with clients in need.
