Throughout life, we move through a wide range of emotions. When things feel overwhelming, it can be difficult to cope, especially if it seems like you’re carrying everything on your own. In those times, it’s easy to lose touch with parts of yourself or struggle to make space for what matters most. That disconnection can feel isolating. Even when things feel heavy, you don’t have to go through it all on your own. Therapy offers a space to be heard, acknowledged, and supported.
As the eldest child of first-generation immigrants from Macedonia, I can relate to the difficulties of trying to fit into two different cultures and the pressures and expectations that others can place on you. My personal experiences with culture make me value each individual’s uniqueness and how lived experiences impact everyone differently.
I see therapy as a shared process that begins with a supportive and trusting relationship. Feeling safe with your therapist is the starting point for meaningful work. I take a person-centered approach that values your input and recognizes you as the expert on your own life. My role is to support and guide you when it’s needed. I draw from a variety of evidence-informed approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Therapy, to shape a process that feels right for you.
Exploring your thoughts and emotions can feel unfamiliar at first, but you won’t be doing it alone. Together, we can draw on your strengths and help you build the tools you need to meet whatever comes your way.
