Hello!
My name is Tehreem Fatimah, I am currently completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University and have spent the past several years working in community-based mental health settings. Through this work, I have supported individuals experiencing substance use challenges, homelessness, trauma, depression, anxiety, burnout, and stress, as well as those navigating systemic barriers and major life transitions. These experiences have deepened my understanding of the resilience people carry even in the face of significant adversity.
My professional and lived experiences have shaped a counselling approach grounded in empathy, respect, authenticity, and cultural humility. I recognize the profound impact that trauma, marginalization, chronic stress, and social injustice can have on mental health and overall well-being. As a result, I strive to create a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered throughout their healing journey.
My therapeutic approach is holistic, collaborative, and strengths-based. I believe that each individual is the expert of their own life, and I value working alongside clients to identify their existing strengths, foster resilience, and develop practical tools that support meaningful and lasting change. My goal is to help clients build greater self-awareness, strengthen coping strategies, improve emotional well-being, and enhance their overall quality of life in a way that feels authentic and sustainable for them.
