Hello, I’m Tasha (she/her) and I am currently pursuing my Master of Counselling at CityUniversity in Vancouver. I currently hold a Bachelors in Psychology from the University of British Columbia. I have spent the last 3 years working in the non-profit mental health sector which has provided me with an inside look into the systemic barriers that many individuals face when seeking help. This has led me to pursue a career in counselling with a commitment to provide compassionate and community centered care.
My practice is deeply grounded in a Person-Centered approach, believing that therapy is not about me telling you what to do, but rather creating a space where you feel save enough to discover your own answers. To me, therapy is a collaboration with clients bringing in different backgrounds, cultures and lived experiences. I strive to foster an atmosphere of mutual respect and continous learning. As a second-generation Canadian with two immigrant parents, I understand the unique complexities of navigating two cultures and the pressure that this may come with. I hope to bring this cultural humility to my practice, offering a safe space for clients to also explore their own intersecting identities.
As an individual who has spent time in therapy, I know what it is like to sit in the client’s chair. I understand the courage that it takes to ask for help. Because of this, I am prepared to walk alongside you with genuine empathy and supporting you through your challenges, no matter how big or small they may feel.
