Get to know Spencer

If things have been feeling heavy lately, like your thoughts do not quiet down, your emotions feel like too much or not enough, or you are carrying things on your own without a place to sort through them, therapy can be a space to begin unpacking that at your own pace. I work with teens and adults 12+ who are dealing with anxiety, low mood, and ongoing stress, especially when it starts to affect relationships, confidence, or day to day functioning.

I have a particular interest in supporting men’s mental health, while also working with women who feel stretched thin, overwhelmed, or disconnected from themselves in the middle of life’s demands or transitions. Many of the men I meet with are used to holding things in, managing things alone, or struggling to express what is going on underneath anger or frustration. I also strive to offer a space that feels safe and affirming for LGBTQIA+ individuals exploring identity, connection, and belonging.

I support clients navigating ADHD, ASD, social anxiety, burnout, grief, trauma, substance use, and challenges with boundaries, coping, or self worth. Some people come in unsure of what is wrong but knowing something does not feel right, while others have a clear sense of what they are struggling with but feel stuck in how to move forward. In our work together, we focus on building tools that are actually usable outside of session, while also making room for the emotional experiences that often get pushed aside.

My approach is collaborative and down to earth. As a student therapist, I draw from approaches like CBT and solution focused therapy, while also being mindful of each person’s pace, comfort, and nervous system. My goal is to offer a space that feels steady and respectful, where you can show up as you are without feeling pressure to have everything figured out.

I tend to show up in sessions with a calm, thoughtful presence. I value honesty and curiosity, and I believe that feeling understood is an important part of meaningful change. Clients often describe sessions as supportive, practical, and grounding, especially during times that feel uncertain.

If you are thinking about starting therapy and want someone who will meet you where you are and work alongside you in a genuine and supportive way, you are welcome to reach out.
