My work is deeply shaped by my lived experiences as an Iranian, queer (cis)woman and three-time migrant. Navigating these often-conflicting identities has attuned me to unspoken struggles and the universal search for belonging, particularly among those experiencing displacement, systemic oppression, or cultural dissonance. I am especially drawn to working with individuals navigating identity-based challenges or explorations, intergenerational trauma, immigration and acculturation, relationship difficulties, and experiences of isolation/loneliness.
My therapeutic approach is best described as relational, attachment-focused, humanistic, somatic, and experiential. In practice, this means our work focuses on the relationship between us as a space for exploration — noticing emotions, reactions, and patterns as they arise in the moment, and experimenting with new ways of relating to yourself and others.
I hold a Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of Toronto and I am currently completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), and a student member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). My professional background includes working as a crisis responder for the national suicide crisis helpline, along with extensive experience in medical, health, and community-based support roles. As part of my commitment to reflective practice, I regularly engage in my own ongoing personal therapy.
