Get to know Patrice

I enter the field of psychotherapy with a strong sense of care, curiosity, and a deep commitment to social justice. For more than 15 years, I supported children, youth, and families as an educator, working first as a classroom teacher and later as a professor at the University of Ottawa and Algonquin College. My work centered on early learning, special education, and building learning environments where students of all abilities and backgrounds felt seen, supported, and valued.

Across these roles, I saw how meaningful change happens through trust, consistency, and authentic human connection. These same principles now shape my work as a therapist. I strive to meet each client with warmth, respect, and openness, honouring your lived experience while supporting you in developing insight, resilience, and self-compassion.

Alongside my teaching career, I pursued specialized training in guidance and equity-focused education. My contributions have been recognized through honours such as the Prime Minister’s Award for Teaching Excellence and a Director of Education Commendation, acknowledgements that reflect my ongoing dedication to inclusive and ethical practice.

I am currently completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology practicum at Nuirish Psychotherapy. I work with adults and youth who may be experiencing anxiety, ADHD, self-esteem challenges, or navigating important life transitions. My approach is collaborative, affirming, and grounded in creating a safe, inclusive space where growth, healing, and meaningful change can unfold.
