Get to know Owen

Hello There! My name is Owen Campbell, a home-grown member of the community who was raised on a cattle ranch in the Saddle Hills area. From an early age, friends and family gravitated towards me for support and a listening ear, which cultivated in me a passion for helping others. This drove me to pursue a bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of Calgary, where I graduated with distinction. I moved back to Grande Prairie to be closer to family, enrolled in the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology though Yorkville University and became a registered student member of the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta. As an intern with Paramount Psychology, I am excited to help youth and adults gain understanding of, and find relief from, the negative thoughts, feelings, and behaviours that create distress. I draw upon Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness theory, humanistic approaches, narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy, and other frameworks to help my clients progress towards their goals. As a parent who has learned to balance school, work, and family life, I understand how stress and worry can build up. I am here to support you in a safe and non-judgmental space, as you journey forward to find better mental health.
