Marie-France is an Intern Therapist and RP (Qualifying) pursuing an MA in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University, and brings a unique perspective to her practice. Raised in a biracial, bicultural, and bilingual home in Ottawa and having moved to Toronto in 2000, she intimately understands the complexities that culture and race introduce into our daily lives.
With her background as a former elementary teacher and a mother of two young adults, Marie-France has extensive experience working with children, pre-teens, and teens facing emotional and behavioral challenges, and can help them develop the necessary skills to address low self-esteem, anxiety, and depression.
Marie-France’s approach to therapy is comprehensive and tailored to suit her clients’ unique needs. She draws from a range of modalities, including humanistic, existential, and cognitive behavioral therapies, as well as emotional-focused therapy (EFT) and mindfulness interventions. Her practice is built on empathy and non-judgment, creating a safe and accepting space where she can listen to your life stories with positive regard and genuine interest. Her goal is to provide the support you need to better understand and transition through difficult life situations. Marie-France offers her services in both English and French.
