Get to know Leah

Do you feel stuck or lost, and wondering how you got here? Perhaps you are stressed, anxious, and burned out and want to feel like yourself again. Maybe you find yourself at a crossroads and want to explore new possibilities in your relationships or career. Most of all you want to live a life that has meaning and purpose, and you want to remember what it is like to feel vibrant and at peace. You want to find your true self

Life can be overwhelming, and it is not meant to be faced alone. I would be honoured to walk alongside you as you find your way. I deeply value connection, empathy, and authenticity, and I bring these qualities to our work together. I will provide a safe and confidential space to explore your challenges with curiosity, compassion, and perhaps a little humour.

Professional Background

I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), and I am currently completing the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology program at Yorkville University. I also hold a Bachelor of Science from Acadia University and a Master of Environmental Studies from York University.

My professional path has had a few twists and turns. I came to psychotherapy in midlife, after years of working in the public sector, in various environmental, planning, and management roles. I know firsthand the experience of burnout and exploring professional identity and values. Throughout this journey, I have discovered a deep meaning in supporting others, and have enjoyed working as a people leader, as a responder on distress lines, and as a public speaking instructor helping people overcome their fears and build confidence.

On a Personal Note…

Like many families, mine has been touched by mental illness. The experiences of my loved ones have been my greatest teacher of empathy and non-judgment and have ultimately inspired my work as a therapist.

Self-care keeps me healthy. I have practiced mindfulness meditation on a daily-ish basis for over 10 years. I love hiking, running, practicing yoga, spending time in nature, dancing to live music, and exploring this beautiful planet.

It would be my pleasure to connect with you for a free consultation to explore working together.
