Get to know Kristen

Do you find yourself overcome by negative thoughts? Do you have difficulty communicating your thoughts and feelings? Is this impacting your work or relationships?

Hello! My name is Kristen, and I am a dedicated and empathetic individual on a journey to becoming a Registered Social Worker. My interests currently lie in the well-being of clients and has driven me to want to make a positive impact in the lives of the people that I am working with. I am devoted to creating a safe and supportive environment for individuals.

I enjoy working with individuals who are experiencing life transitions, self-esteem issues, stress, and mental health concerns surrounding anxiety and depression. I integrate various therapeutic approaches with a focus on Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT). I am trained in Level 1 & Level 2 of the Gottman Method and have experience working with couples.

I am focused on understanding you and your relationships holistically by looking through a biological, psychological, sociological, familial, spiritual, and cultural lens.

I am currently pursuing a Master of Social Work at the University of Toronto where I am gaining a strong foundation in psychological theories, counselling techniques, and ethical practices. I am specializing in mental and physical health. I am pleased to be completing my practicum experience at Matt Eldridge Counselling. My expected year of graduation is May 2025. My journey began at Toronto Metropolitan University where I completed a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Sociology. I have a background of working with couples, individuals with disabilities, planning and organizing events for church youth groups, and as a crisis line support worker.

If you are currently experiencing difficulties and seeking support, I invite you to reach out. I am happy to answer any questions, and I look forward to the possibility of working together on your path to wellness!
