Kristen Bassett-Berkiw (she/her) is a Registered Social Worker with 3 years of experience in the field of mental health and counselling. Known for her empathetic approach that is client-centered, she is dedicated to fostering a supportive and healing space for individuals.

Kristen strives to create a therapeutic environment where clients feel validated in their healing journey. She is committed to providing trauma-sensitive care that prioritizes safety, trust, and empowerment. Kristen values fostering independence and resilience in each person, providing compassionate therapy to individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Therapeutic Approach:

Known for various approaches including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing, Kristen focuses on solution-focused, strength-based approaches to meet the unique needs of everyone. She believes that every person has inherent strengths and creates a space where clients can discover them within their therapeutic journey.

Focus Areas:

In her practice, Kristen focuses on empowerment, validation, navigating life transitions and self-discovery. Kristen’s counselling expertise lies in anxiety, depression, grief, parenting, and ADHD. She is skilled at working with clients on achieving goals through means such as behavioural activation and strategies to reduce discomfort resulting from stress. She is particularly adept at mindfulness techniques and SMART goal setting. Kristen’s goal is to increase the overall well-being of every person she works with through self-discovery and strengthening their abilities to be successful in their lives.
