Hello, my name is Kim. I’m a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) in the Peel/Halton region, Ontario. I know I don’t look like what most people think a student therapist would look like….. in case you’re wondering – I’m 51! This is me following my dreams, accepting the support of friends and family and believing I should start listening to my instincts! I worked for over 20 years in Ontario’s colleges and universities and left my role as an Associate Dean to pursue a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology. I know from personal experience that sometimes it’s nice to talk to someone who has been through some of the same life experiences you have. I’ve been married for 25 years; I have two young adult children who couldn’t be more different from one another! I have experienced many of the ups & downs that come with being middle-aged, having a family, being a menopausal woman, being stressed, anxious, doubtful, and with a curiosity for “can this be better?” I can offer clients the kind of empathy that comes from being able to say, “I hear you, I’ve been there.” There is something special about meeting with a therapist who seems to already know where you are. Together, we can look at what’s not working for you and what is. I’m trained in several therapy models and utilize emotionally focused therapy techniques. Feel free to reach out and ask me anything you like- you owe it to yourself to find the right person to help you the way you want.

Practitioners listed in this directory may come from a variety of academic institutions, credentialing bodies, and experience levels, from across Canada. Requirements to practice psychotherapy vary from province to province. Some provinces regulate the title of counsellors, others regulate the act of psychotherapy, and some do neither. This directory is limited to those going through an accredited Master’s level counselling program in Canada.
