Get to know Debra

Hello! My name is Debra, and I am passionate about supporting individuals on their journey to well-being. My path to becoming a psychotherapist has been anything but conventional, and I believe this diverse background enriches my practice.

I’ve had the honour of serving within Canada and overseas, which has given me a unique perspective on resilience and care. My career has taken me from the skies as a search and rescue helicopter pilot to the frontlines of healthcare as a registered nurse, and to leading a large dental clinic. Each of these roles has taught me invaluable lessons about human strength and compassion.

Academically, I hold a Master of Science in Dental Public Health, a Doctor of Dental Surgery, and a Master of Education. These qualifications reflect my commitment to understanding both to the scientific and humanistic aspects of health. But beyond the degrees, it’s the real-world experiences and the people I’ve met along the way that have truly shaped my approach to therapy.

Living and working in various parts of the world has taught me the importance of adaptability, compassion and empathy. I strive to bring these qualities into my therapeutic practice, ensuring that I meet each client where they are. I believe in a versatile approach, tailoring my methods to fit the unique needs of each individual.

Whether you are navigating life’s challenges, seeking personal growth, or simply need a compassionate ear, I am here to support you. My goal is to create a safe and understanding space where we can work together and you can explore your thoughts and feelings without judgment.

Thank you for considering me as a part of your journey. I look forward to working with you and supporting you on your path to wellness because you matter.
