My journey as a mother and military spouse has provided opportunities and challenges, especially while navigating life’s transitions. These experiences have deepened my understanding of important issues such as neurodiversity, postpartum depression, trauma, anxiety, and depression. I have grown passionate about supporting others on similar journeys and sharing flexible coping strategies to help us all navigate these complexities together. I have extensive experience working in various supportive roles across Canada, particularly within military and family resource centers. My background also includes numerous positions in mental health and social services, where I’ve been dedicated to advocating for community mental health and offering support through crisis interventions and inclusive outreach programs. Currently, I’m a master’s level practicum student in counselling psychology at Yorkville University, under the clinical supervision of Aline Maia, Registered Psychotherapist (MA, M.Ed, CC-PMH). I aim to provide a safe and nurturing space for you to explore your challenges. I prioritize your needs and work collaboratively to find solutions that resonate with your life and goals. In our sessions, I employ a client-centred approach focused on empowerment and resilience. I utilize techniques from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Narrative Therapy. Together, we can work on: – Managing anxiety and stress – Rediscovering your sense of self, your personal needs, and values – Planning ways to enhance your mental wellness during life changes Please keep in mind that, as a practicum student, I accept clients based on availability and fit. My practicum site and supervisor will review client intakes, and while a direct referral is not always guaranteed, I’m here to help you through this journey. Your path to healing and growth starts here, and I look forward to being a part of it!
